The predator only knows it is 'alive' according to its ability to keep sourcing new, and re-finding previous targets. A return into your life must be considered in the same context as a corpse which has retuned from the grave.
When the psychopath performed their typical exit strategy of downgrading and ruthlessly discarding the target—followed by the trademark very personalised smear campaign which ONLY psychopaths/sociopaths indulge in—a kind of persona death of self-slaughter was undertaken by the psychopath upon themselves, they died willingly. Your not so dearly departed was never really alive to begin with. No more than an actor playing a role in a movie which bombed.
